App Reviews

A list of very interesting apps that I come across, and some reasons why I like them and what I feel could have been better.

Musicsense - An ad free music discovery and streaming app

If you are looking for a clean, simple and well designed app for music discovery and streaming app, look no further! What's even more interesting is that you can bookmark songs you like and make a playlist. Somewhat similar to Spotify.

The interface

The welcome screen gives you 2 options to log-in. One by email and another by Facebook connect. I recommend you use your Facebook log-in. The app will go through the music you have liked and also places you have visited and mix up a playlist for you. I am into Original Sound Tracks and was very pleasantly surprised when it suggested Hans Zimmer and Thomas Newman tracks on first launch.

Searching for Music

Searching for music is straight forward, you have a search bar, tap on it and search for a song/artist/album and the app will create a playlist to that genre.

Conclusion

Did I mention its free? No? Well its FREE! The music quality is pretty good. I used it with my headphones the last couple of weeks. The song discovery is excellent. Its a good alternative to Pandora & Spotify, but in those apps, when you search for a song, it plays the song first and then curates similar songs that you might like. Here your search results in a playlist thats similar to the song that you searched for.
